Lars Windhorst, an entrepreneur since the age of 15, is now the Chief
Executive Officer of Sapinda Deutschland Gmbh. He co-founded Sapinda, an
investment group, back in 2004. By working with Rob Herson, a businessman
from South Africa, they signed investment deals worth more than 2 billion
Euros in a five year period. Thanks to the financial genius of Lars
Windhorst, the group profited with excellent rates of return, procuring
investments in the range of one billion Euros.
Sapinda suffered heavy losses when the financial crisis of 2008 hit, but
the company was able to restructure later that year. After the shareholders
declared insolvency, the restructured company jumped back into business in
2009. A subsidiary of Sapinda Holding B.V., Sapinda Deutschland GmbH is an
international investment and holding company that specializes in public
equity, private equity, and debt.
Business Connections:
Lars Windhorst has been well-connected in business since he traveled with
Ex-Chancellor Helmut Kohl as a young man. Along with state visits to world
leaders, he was also invited to take part in the Global Leader for Tomorrow
event at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Early Business Dealings:
Lars Windhorst co-founded his first company, Windhorst Electronics, in
1993. His business grew quickly and soon expanded into the realms of
industry, resl estate, finanace and tading. With operations in Europe and
Asia, he was regarded as the youngest entrepreneur to reach such phenomenal
success.
The business plummeted as a result of shifting investments into the wildly
popular Internet scene. When that scene crashed in 2001, Lars Windhorst was
forced to call it quits and declare his company bankrupt.
Lars Windhorst continues to thrive; even after suffering severe injuries
when he was a passenger in an airplane that crashed in Kazakhstan. One of
the pilots of that aircraft lost his life, but Lars Windhorst escaped with
face and chest burns.
