With a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Temple University, Leslye Abrutyn served as Superintendent of Schools with the Penn-Delco School District from 1997 to 2007. For a decade, Abrutyn provided effective management within a multitude of operational levels. Overseeing educational curriculum and the districtâ??s departments of technology, finance, HR, transportation, facilities, public relations, and community outreach, Leslye Abrutyn ensured compliance with state and federal mandates and policies while generating improvement and growth in all sectors. Keeping both the Penn-Delco School Board of Directors and the public apprised of the latest developments within the district, Superintendent of Schools Leslye Abrutyn appeared regularly on television and radio and produced community newsletters. Leslye Abrutyn also shared information through various seminars and special events. In addition to her role as Superintendent of Schools, Leslye Abrutyn served on community-based boards and committees. From 2006 to 2007, Leslye Abrutyn led the Womenâ??s Caucus of the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators as President. Leslye Abrutyn also served as an Executive Board member of the Standard and Poorâ??s School Evaluation Services from 1999 to 2002 and was a member of the Advisory Board for the Middle States Accreditation for Growth Commission on Secondary Schools, where she helped develop the Accreditation for Growth Process. Additionally, Leslye Abrutyn held membership in the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development and the National Association of Secondary School Principals, as well as numerous state professional educational organizations. Leslye Abrutyn completed her undergraduate career at Boston University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Leslye Abrutyn later attended Temple University, where she received her Master of Education in Special Education, and later, her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
